Charity Fundraiser/Administrator Required
The successful applicant will work on their
own initiative to drive the charity forward and develop a
detailed and workable business plan for the next five years. This
opportunity has arisen due to the success of the charity
over the past years and the present time constraints of the
Trustees. A flexible approach to the working day is essential as attendance at evening/weekend
meetings and fundraising events is a part of this role.
The key responsibilities will include:
Providing the Trustees with a detailed business plan for
2006 – 2010
Sourcing funding possibilities from other charitable trusts and national
organisations
Maximising PR opportunities with newspapers, radio and TV at regular intervals;
Reviewing and updating the current marketing material (leaflets, posters
etc.) and developing new material where appropriate;
Dealing with general enquiries from supporters, trustees, media etc. via post,
telephone and email;
Organising two major cultural events per year
Organising and facilitating monthly Trustee meetings;
Providing the Trustees with weekly/monthly updates on progress made;
Attending conferences to develop links with other charities;
Managing a relationship with the Charity Commission and keeping them informed
of progress;
Day to day banking and updating of financial data;
Preparing accounts for the Annual Audit and Annual Return to the Charity Commission;
Completing Gift Aid applications.
The essential requirements for the role are:
At least one year’s experience of working with a charitable organisation;
Compassion and good listening skills
The ability to work effectively both singularly and within a team
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Excellent linguistic and literacy skills in Punjabi and Hindi.
Experience of organising major fundraising events
A high level of motivation
Excellent presentation skills and experience of public speaking
Computer literacy
Good analytical skills.

sensitive, trustworthy and reliable, have experience of working
with Black Minority Ethnic communities and able to work to
